What is the age requirement to volunteer?
Typical Age Requirements

18 and older: Most volunteer roles, especially those involving direct service, transportation, or unsupervised interactions, require volunteers to be at least 18.

14–17 years old: Many nonprofits allow teens to volunteer with parental consent or adult supervision. Some may require them to be part of a school or community service program.

Under 14: Rare, but possible — usually must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and do simpler tasks (e.g., packaging food, handing out flyers).
